Rochdale based photographer specialising in Newborn, Tots and family photography.
Pure. Natural. Simple.
My newly refurbished home studio has been specially designed to suit babies and children. For some visiting my studio, this could be their first family outing which can be a little overwhelming. That's why I've created a home from home environment, ready to capture special moments for babies and their families.
When I first started out I was a complete beginner to newborn and family photography. I had seen a lot of different photographers along with all the different themes and styles that they used from boho to fluffy pink tutus. I was basically clueless in the field of what goes with what and was really struggling to find a style that was right for me.
I then did a photoshoot for my friends little baby Adley, it was a quick session and I didn't have the time to fiddle around with different props to put him in and change my bright random backdrop for the 3rd time that day. I don't know why but I decided to go with a natural style shoot and use simple white fabrics with minimal posing, since then i haven't looked back! The shots that I had captured were my best yet, all the focus was on baby and mum which is the whole point right? it was simple, pure and I felt that I had truly captured him just the way he was, happy squishy and giggly with no distractions. I found when I was using colourful fussy props i was taking a picture just because baby looked cute as a turtle or in an over the top outfit. when i took the photographs of Adley that day I was taking in the moment and capturing every small detail, little things that I miss about my own children... the milk spots on their nose, the tiny little wrinkles on their feet and memories that last forever.
Although I knew then exactly the kind of photographer I wanted to be, I'm not kidding you when I say white is the most difficult colour to work with! I tend to always take the hard route! My goal was to perfect my work to the smallest detail, which I'm still working on every single day. Any photographer will tell you there is always something to learn and i am so very excited to develop my skills further, so excited to meet new clients and even more excited to capture your little humans for the beautiful little sweethearts they are.
